Comparison

Against anything that asks for your Instagram password

Some DM tools work by logging in as you and driving the app. CoffeeReach holds an OAuth token and calls Meta's API. The distinction decides what happens to the account when something goes wrong.

What you get

  • Connected by Instagram's own OAuth flow, revocable from Settings at any time.
  • No password is ever asked for, stored, or used.
  • No scraping and no browser automation: every send is a documented API call.
  • Tokens are encrypted at rest and refreshed before they expire.

What a private reply is

Meta's official mechanism for answering a comment. It lands in the person's inbox like any other message from the account, and it only works for someone who commented on your post or messaged you first.

Limits are respected, not dodged

Meta documents 750 private replies per hour per account. Sends are reserved against that budget atomically, and overflow waits for the next window rather than pushing through.

What the permissions actually allow

The connection is scoped to reading comments and sending messages for the account you connected. It cannot post to your feed, follow anyone, or message people who never contacted you.

Questions worth asking

Why does it need a Business or Creator account?

The comment and messaging permissions only exist for professional accounts. It is a Meta requirement, not a plan restriction, and switching is free inside Instagram.

Is this safe for the account?

It runs on the official Instagram Graph API: no scraping, no browser automation, and your password is never asked for. Sends stay under Meta's documented limit of 750 private replies per hour per account, and a DM only ever goes to someone who commented on your post or messaged you first.

How many Instagram accounts does one subscription cover?

One, on every plan except Agency, which covers 10. Each connected account has to be a Business or Creator account, which is a Meta requirement rather than ours.
